The EKO SOCIAL HEALTH ALLIANCE (EKOSHA) seeks to raise additional funds for the huge deficits in Demand and Supply of Healthcare. According to the Ministry of Health (2018), harsh living conditions in Nigeria have now put life expectancy at 54 years and the infant mortality rate at 72.20%.
In line with the stated facts, the EKOSHA initiative aims to raise funds to aid the deficit of demand and supply financing in Lagos State and most importantly achieve universal health coverage by enabling Lagos residents to access affordable and quality health care.
The vision of EKOSHA is to support LASHMA in actualizing its objective of ensuring that no vulnerable persons or resource-challenged families are left without health insurance coverage in Lagos State. Through collaborative efforts, we aim to make quality healthcare accessible to all.
Our mission is to mobilize sufficient funds and establish innovative financing for health insurance premiums through a strategic alliance of public, private, and community stakeholders. By fostering sustainable partnerships, we strive to ensure continuous and inclusive healthcare coverage for all.
To mobilize adequate funding through a strategic alliance with suitable private financial institutions, high net worth individuals, and the population leveraging a crowdfunding financing model to provide additional funding options for the health care of at least 6m vulnerable residents of Lagos.
To urge individuals, faith-based organizations, Telecoms and mobile network providers, development partners, Corporate bodies, and Cooperatives to apply their corporate and commercial social responsibilities to support the paying of premiums for their healthcare coverage for the initial or targeted estimated 6m most vulnerable people.
To ensure all vulnerable/poor residents of Lagos state have access to quality and affordable healthcare irrespective of social and financial status.
