The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), has won Africa’s Best Health Management Agency of the Year 2023 and Outstanding Health Insurance Company of the Year 2023 Awards.
The two Awards were presented at two different ceremonies, held respectively, at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island and the other at the Podium Event Centre, Lekki.
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, who was represented at the events by the Head, Business Development, Mr. Olatunji Rotimi and the Coordinator, Regulations (LASHMA), Mr. Tosin Awosika respectively, appreciated both organisations, for deeming it fit to recognise the efforts of the Agency in its service to humanity and for providing affordable and quality healthcare to the people of the State.
She expressed her gratitude for the awards which were given, as a result of; the qualitative service delivery that the Agency provides, its use of technology in its day-to-day activities, operational excellence and best practices as well as its brand innovation and invention.
Dr. Zamba said that the Agency was also recognised as one of the Brands that are delivering positive change, shaping Africa’s future and playing a pivotal role in driving Africa’s economic development.
Dedicating the awards to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other Exco Members as well as ILERA EKO Enrollees and LASHMA stakeholders, the Permanent Secretary said that LASHMA is fully committed to ensuring that the Lagos State Government attains its Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goal and that equitable healthcare is provided for every resident of the State, irrespective of their socio-economic status.
Dr. Zamba said that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is determined to amongst others reduce out-of-pocket payment of medical bills by residents.
She implored the residents who are yet to enrol in the Scheme, to register immediately, obtain their Policy Number which is unique to every individual, for them to access the numerous benefits of the Health Insurance Scheme.

The Permanent Secretary explained that those who are ready to register immediately can use the USSD Code by dialing *6700*006# on their phone or by visiting LASHMA website: www.lashma.com, LASHMA Headquarters at 17, Kafi Street, Alausa, Ikeja or any of its Divisional or Sub-Divisional Offices spread across Lagos State.
